i hope everyone is having a good weekend! mine is extremely busy. travis has the last painting critique of his graduate school career on tuesday. needless to say, he is spending a large chunk of the weekend working in his studio. this leaves me and sylvie plenty of time for things like this:
it also leaves me plenty of time to tend to my lovely mushrooms, which i'm sure will be great companions if they decide to grow.
mushrooms in 10 days my foot! it's been a week without so much as a spore. ohhhhhhh well.
what are you doing this weekend? (i hope you're doing something more interesting than watching mushrooms not grow.)
The cauliflower soup looks delicious. I've never actually made anything with califlower besides just eating it raw. It's on my list of to do's this summer. I hear it's amazing roasted.

Carey-The other way I love cauliflower is mashed in place of potatoes. My mother-in-law makes it and it's soooo good!

your food makes me envious! do you plan your meals? where do you come up with your ideas??

Emily-It's sort of equal parts meal planning and spontaneous inspiration. I make a small trip to the store almost everyday and buy only what we need.
For ideas, I look around the internet, read food blogs, and subscribe to food emails. Tasting Table is a great site for ideas.

This all looks sooooo good. Goat cheese can make any meal better, right? It's one of my favourite things to add to a salad, a burger, pasta - whatever!
I'm going to check out Tasting Table. I'm a total foodgawker addict.

Randalin-I agree, goat cheese makes everything better! We're lucky that we have an AMAZING goat farm near us. The cheese from there is incredible!
